Cirrus Fleet Surpasses Two Million Flight-Hours Milestone

'A Fleet Fleet For Plane Genius Customers'

You'd be hard-pressed to visit any decent-sized airport, and not see at least one Cirrus SR-type aircraft on the ramp; on second thought, you may not see one... as those planes are often in the air, not sitting on the ground.

Need proof? Consider the Duluth, MN-based company's announcement this week the Cirrus fleet of SR20 and SR22 aircraft recently surpassed the two million flight hour milestone, with a bit more than 3,500 aircraft built over the past nine years.

Cirrus pilots have amassed enough miles to go to the sun and back more than twice, or more than 15,000 trips around the world. By reaching this milestone, the company says it has remained true to its mission to provide safety and utility that Cirrus owners find in their aircraft.

"When we began development of the SR line it was our intention to produce a product that gives our customers great utility, based around comfort, performance and most importantly safety," said Alan Klapmeier, Cirrus Chairman and CEO. "Achieving the two million flight hour mark, demonstrates our commitment to our customers and determination to grow the industry has been working."

Cirrus builds 16 aircraft per week, and the company says the SR22 remains the industry's top selling fixed wing airplane. The ever-increasing Cirrus fleet is currently serviced by a worldwide network of more than 170 domestic and international Cirrus Service Centers.
