Classic Aero-TV: SeaRey Goes LSA -- Amazing Amphib Gets Light-Sport Treatment

One of Sport Aviation's Sweetest Amphibs Goes 'LSA'

It's been one of my favorite amphibs for many years... and certainly since the day I flew the first prototype in Clermont, FL, out of a dinky little pond that seemed to have barely enough room to float a canoe, much less a two seat, 100 MPH Amphib.

The product of Progressive Aerodyne, the SeaRey is the proud result of a family business that has been designing and building aircraft for over 30 years.

Kerry Richter, and three generations of his family, together with their friend and partner Paige Lynette, all work side by side in the company that has produced over 400 flying aircraft that have been racking up hours, worldwide.
Using engines ranging from the basic 80HP Rotax 912 to the fire-breathing Rotax 914, the SeaRey offers two persons a cruise speed ranging from 85-100 mph, and truly outstanding handling for an LSA.I can attest to the bird's extremely gentle water-handling... as well as its ability to take a little aggressive action when you start getting a better feel for it... and the overall effect is simply one of the best little amphibs we've EVER played with.

And with the solid backup of a truly aviation oriented family business, the SeaRey is a MUST to consider when you're looking for a solid LSA adventure craft. HIGHLY recommended.
