Another High-Altitude Balloon Mystery Underway Over The US

Sources Assert it To Be "Hobby Balloon" -- At 43-45K Feet

Well... we're back to balloon watch once again... although recent assertions claim that this high-attitude transgressor is a 'hobby' balloon... flying at over 40,000 feet.

NORAD has disclosed that it has, "detected a small balloon at an altitude varying between 43,000-45,000 ft. The balloon was intercepted by NORAD fighters over Utah, who determined it was not maneuverable and did not present a threat to national security. NORAD will continue to track and monitor the balloon. The FAA also determined the balloon posed no hazard to flight safety. NORAD remains in close coordination with the FAA to ensure flight safety.”

Late Saturday, NORAD attempted to calm the situation by noting that the balloon was monitored in coordination with the FAA until it left U.S. airspace overnight.

This is barely a year after the most significant balloon scare to date when the already frigid relations between the US and China reached new lows after a Chinese balloon carrying 'sophisticated spying equipment' flew over the continental US for several days without any immediate interdiction. After the device transgressed US territory, our military finally shot it down off the South Carolina Coast, on Feb. 4, 2023, and recovered the wreckage.

More info to follow, as it is revealed.
