NBAA Announces Recipients Of 2009 Schedulers & Dispatchers Scholarships

Awards Given To 12 Individuals Seeking To Advance Their Aviation Careers

The National Business Aviation Association (NBAA) and its Schedulers & Dispatchers (S&D) Committee announced last week that $40,000 in scholarship funds will be awarded to 12 individuals seeking to advance their aviation careers through continuing education.

ExxonMobil Aviation and the Avitats, Signature Flight Support, Universal Weather and Aviation Inc., Chevron Global Aviation, Atlantic Aviation, Air BP Aviation Services, Jeppesen DataPlan and AC-U-KWIK, proudly sponsor the awards this year.

Scholarship award recipients include:

  • Wesley Cieciwa, student
  • Zsasha Diaz of Citigroup
  • Kathleen Donnelly of ITT
  • Kelly Galeas of Associated Aircraft Group
  • Travis Greene of Aire Corr
  • Cynthia Hayes of John Deere
  • Sunny Lewin of Executive Fliteways
  • Emir Radoncic of JetBlue
  • Barbara Schick of Jetpool
  • Shannon Schwartz of Bombardier Skyjet
  • John Steele III of Maine Aviation
  • Charles Stockton of Elliott Aviation

NBAA's S&D Committee offers scholarships through two separate but related programs that specifically promote professional and career development for business aviation schedulers and dispatchers.

Through the Schedulers & Dispatchers Scholarship Program, the Committee offers cash grants, which can be used for a variety of professional development initiatives. Since 1997, more than $300,000 has been awarded to schedulers and dispatchers through this program.

A separate Schedulers & Dispatchers Training Scholarship Program, initiated in 2004, offers opportunities for scholarship recipients to gain access to hands-on teaching initiatives.
