Transmits Data About Airplanes To Dassault To Minimize Ground Time
Dassault Falcon announced Thursday that its new FalconBroadcast airborne health monitoring service is now available on all Falcon 2000 and Falcon 900 models equipped with the EASy cockpit. "This service has been available for our Falcon 7X customers since mid 2012 and the response has been universally positive" said Jacques Chauvet, Senior Vice President of Worldwide Customer Service. "Dispatch rates increase and in the event of an AOG, aircraft downtime is decreased."
The service is available for in-production Falcon 900LX, Falcon 2000LX and the new Falcon 2000LXS which was announced last October at the NBAA Convention. In service EASy aircraft can have their service activated at any Dassault Falcon Authorized Service Center.
Unveiled in Geneva in May 2012 on the Falcon 7X, FalconBroadcast enables operators to address unscheduled maintenance events while still in flight, with the help of automated real-time troubleshooting tools and satellite links, allowing the issue to be resolved as soon as the aircraft lands.
Any crucial data generated by the Central Maintenance Computer is instantly transmitted to Dassault (either by satellite or VHF radio communications link), where it is automatically acquired, processed and enriched. An email alert is then sent to the operator's ground personnel. If necessary, maintenance technicians can log into the Falcon customer portal to access detailed maintenance reports showing event history, timeline and contributing factors. The automatic transmission of the aircraft's technical status at the end of each flight also allows for the early detection of impending failures.
Dispatchability was the key driver behind development of FalconBroadcast service. It allows ground crews to anticipate logistics, troubleshooting and other support requirements while the aircraft is still in the air.
