IS&S Announces ThrustSense Autothrottle Deliveries

CJ Series and King Air Aircraft Deliveries Incoming

Innovative Solutions & Support (IS&S) announced availability of its Thrustsense Autothrottle system for King Airs for immediate delivery, as well as CJ series aircraft with Pro Line 21, Fusion, and Garmin avionics for delivery in 2022.

ThrustSense features configuration adapters that allow operators to purchase the system for their current flight deck, or a seamless installation when added during a new installation. The IS&S autothrottle is a full regime system that allows the pilot to automatically control the power setting of the engines and speed targets from takeoff to landing, including go-around. When actuated for takeoff, advancing the throttle levers to the takeoff detent on jets grants takeoff power settings for five minutes until repositioning to the climb MCT detent.

IS&S also advertises their LifeGuard, a safety system that provides VMCa protection, aimed at enhancing safety during low speed, low altitude flight regimes in twin jet operations. The ThrustSense autothrottles enable automatic control of engine power settings, keeping power levels within safe limits. Pilots can focus on flying the aircraft, instead of “hunting” for a specific speed. The LifeGuard system also provides protection against over and underspeed situations throughout all phases of flight.

IS&S’s available Integrated Standby Unit enables full autothrottle control interface as well as complete standby suite capability. Factory installers quote a downtime of 3 days for aircraft installation. ThrustSense Authothrottle is available for retrofit on the King Air 200 and 300, as well as the Pilatus PC-12.
