Second Bell 505 Purchased By Fort Worth Police Department

Deal Highlights Long-Standing Relationship Between The Organizations

Bell Textron announced that it has received an order for a second Bell 505 helicopter from the Fort Worth Police Department.

The Department took delivery of its first Bell 505 in 2021, showcasing its 70-year relationship with Bell.

The Department’s Air Support Unit has used a series of Bell aircraft to support its aerial public safety capabilities since the unit’s inception, including Bell 47s and Bell 206 Jet Rangers.

Lane Evans, Managing Director of Bell North America said, “Bell is proud the Fort Worth Police Department has chosen to expand their existing all-Bell public safety fleet with the purchase of an additional Bell 505, continuing our long-standing relationship with the Department.

We remain confident that the Bell 505 platform will continue to be a great asset to the community and surrounding areas for years to come.”

The Unit plans to use the newly acquired aircraft to increase its public safety presence with the aircraft’s versatile mission capabilities including search and rescue. In addition, the wide panoramic windows, open cabin design, and Synthetic Vision technology, enable the Bell 505 to support a more cohesive effort between the air crew and law enforcement officers on the ground.

The aircraft’s Safran Arrius 2R engine, dual channel FADEC, and G1000H NXi avionics suite deliver capable, efficient, and reliable performance during demanding missions.
