Completing ADS-B Certification Efforts For Citation, King Air, Hawker Platforms
Textron Aviation has recently completed certification for Automatic Dependent Surveillance – Broadcast Out (ADS-B Out) on the Citation Mustang, making a full range of cost-competitive ADS-B options available for all Citation, King Air and Hawker aircraft. Retrofit modifications are now available at company-owned service centers.

Owners and operators can learn more about next generation air traffic management program initiatives and modernization solutions at the company’s dedicated resource page to ensure they are equipped to operate successfully in a NextGen environment.
“Taking care of our customers is our top priority, and we are committed to ensuring owners and operators across all our platforms are well-equipped to comply with the upcoming mandate requirements,” said Brad Thress, senior vice president, Customer Service. “We invite all Citation, King Air and Hawker customers to take advantage of the in-house expertise on ADS-B solutions from the company that knows your aircraft best.”
Citation, King Air and Hawker customers can be assured that through a Textron Aviation service bulletin, their aircraft will be in compliance in any region throughout the world. This is unique in that supplemental type certifications offered by third-party providers often only cover the aircraft in the country it is registered. This year alone, Textron Aviation has issued 10 service bulletins for ADS-B equipment on various models and has completed more than 1,000 installations. Owners and operators are invited to contact their local Textron Aviation service center for more information on specific airframe and avionics.
Operation in some regions, including Australia and other areas in Southeast Asia and the Pacific Rim, already require ADS-B Out capability. Europe began requiring ADS-B Out for new aircraft operating there earlier this year, with a retrofit deadline in mid-2020. Operations in the United States will require ADS-B Out capability at the beginning of 2020.
