FlightSafety Appoints Robert McGahan To Leadership Post

Named Director, Business Development, Government Training And Simulation

FlightSafety International announces that Robert McGahan has been appointed Director, Business Development, Government Training and Simulation.

“We congratulate Bob on his new position and look forward to his contributions to FlightSafety’s government programs,” said Ray Johns, Executive Vice President, Government. “Bob has an in-depth understanding of aviation training programs and flight simulation equipment, and the ability to develop innovative and cost-effective solutions that meet the specific needs of government agencies worldwide.”

Bob will work with a cross-functional team to identify and pursue new business opportunities for government and military training services and flight simulation equipment. Together they will ensure that FlightSafety offers products and services that are in accordance with current and future government requirements, and provide the highest quality and best overall value. Governments around the world rely on FlightSafety’s mission-specific training programs and proven advanced technology simulation equipment.

FlightSafety serves more than 40 national governments with a full range of advanced-technology training services, systems and equipment.

v joined FlightSafety in 1999 as a Visual Systems Program Manager for military programs. He most recently served as Manager, Military Business Development, Visual Systems. He worked to identify and secure opportunities for the sale of FlightSafety’s Visual Systems with governments around the world. Well over 1,000 VITAL visual systems have been delivered to Customers in 42 countries to date.

Bob served with the United States Army for eight years in Airborne Infantry, Airborne Reconnaissance, and Battalion Operations. Bob then joined the U.S. Army Aviation Systems Command and held a variety of roles as an analyst and in logistics and program management. He next served as the Command Acquisition Systems Integrator in the Office of the Commanding General for the U.S. Army Aviation Systems Command. Just prior to joining FlightSafety, Bob was the Director, Business Management Office at the Integrated Materiel Management Center of the U.S. Army Aviation and Troop Command. He graduated from Forest Park Community College with a degree in Business Administration and studied Business Management at the University of Missouri.
