4th Annual Hydrogen Aviation Symposium In April

VFS Hosts Conference With SAE Int’l Hydrogen Airport Committee

The Vertical Flight Society announced it is holding its 4th Annual H2-Aero Symposium on April 2-3, 2025, in Long Beach, California. The event will be held in conjunction with the SAE International Hydrogen Airport Committee meeting on April 1 with both events taking place at the Long Beach Hilton.

The theme for this year’s 4th Annual H2-Aero Symposium is “Pushing the Envelope,” and will include real-world demonstrations shown in presentations by hydrogen and aerospace companies such as Boeing, H2FLY, Hydroplane, Joby Aviation, KLM Royal Dutch Airlines, Piasecki Aircraft, and ZeroAvia.

Demos will also be presented by hydrogen drone developers including Aurora Flight Sciences and Unmanned Aerospace, as well as hydrogen tech companies Gloyer-Taylor Labs, H2MOF, Honeywell, PowerCell and Unither Bioelectronics.

Jesse Schneider, CEO/CTO of ZEV Station and H2-Aero Symposium Chair said, “This year’s Symposium features keynotes from around the globe, with the goal of decarbonizing aviation with hydrogen. Leading experts from governments, aircraft, hydrogen and fuel cell industries will present groundbreaking advances, ‘pushing the envelope’ in hydrogen aviation.”

Mike Hirschberg, VFS Director of Strategy said, “This event spans the gamut of hydrogen for aviation. Cutting-edge innovations from hydrogen technologies to government policies will be shown from a wide spectrum of aircraft applications.”

VFS supports breakthroughs in a broad range of alternative propulsion technologies such as electric and hydrogen power beyond just vertical flight applications, to include conventional takeoff and landing aircraft.

Speakers at the symposium also include government representatives from the FAA, the UK Civil Aviation Authority (CAA), the European Union Aviation Safety Agency (EASA), NASA, and the National Renewable Energy Lab (NREL).

Talks will also be delivered by the International Air Transport Association (IATA), SAE International, and the University of California. Additional details and registration are available on the website.
