Pylon Racing Seminar (PRS) Rescheduled To September 9-12, 2020

The 2020 STIHL National Championship Air Races Is Still Scheduled for September 16-20, 2020

One of the highlights, as well as a requirement for a new or returning Reno race Pilot, is the attendance at 'Rookie School' otherwise known as the Pylon Racing Seminar. For over 2 decades, the Reno Air Racing Association has utilized the Pylon Racing Seminar (PRS) program to allow race pilots to prepare, practice and become certified to race in the races each Fall.

RARA notes that, "It is the objective of the Reno Air Racing Association Board of Directors to assemble the most experienced, skilled, trained and race-certified pilots to compete at the STIHL National Championship Air Races. To accomplish this objective, RARA along with the individual racing class organizations provide PRS to all pilots — offering race practice time, education, training and certification to all pilots and allowing them to race with maximum competitiveness and safety at the STIHL National Championship Air Races."

This year's rendition, however, originally scheduled for June, has now been postponed to the week before the annual races, themselves.

RARA has announced that, "The safety of our pilots, volunteers, fans and staff is always the top priority for the Reno Air Racing Association. That's why we've decided to reschedule the Pylon Racing Seminar (PRS) from June 10-13, 2020 to September 9-12, 2020. At this time, the 2020 STIHL National Championship Air Races is still scheduled for September 16-20, 2020. We're continuing to closely monitor the situation and will let you know if there are any additional changes. Please check our website for more information and new updates as we move forward."

We'll keep you apprised...
