Classic Aero-TV: Upgrading A Classic LSA – New Features For The RANS S7 Courier

From 2015 (YouTube Version): One Of Our Favorite Tandem Taildraggers Continues to Evolve... Delightfully

While at Sun ‘n Fun 2015, ANN News Editor, Tom Patton, visited the RANS Aircraft site to find out what the new upgrades are on the RANS S7. To get an answer for this question, he talked with RANS CEO, Randy Schlitter.

As a kit-built, tandem-seating taildragger, The RANS S7 has already made a reputation for itself as being a utilitarian type of airplane. Schlitter says there have been about 10 major improvements made to what was already a good airplane. He added that all the improvements make it a simpler airplane to build.

The video goes down the list of improvements but they include such things as, a universal engine mount that will accept all 900 series of Rotax engines and a landing gear that is not only easier to install, but it also gives the airplane a new stance. Changes in the cockpit include a new control stick system, and the rear stick can now be removed to provide more cargo space in the back.

As Tom asked more questions about the airplane Schlitter said that, “It’s like a Swiss Army knife because it can do so many things.” The video provides you with a good look inside and outside the airplane.
