Tom Turner's Aero-Craft 101: What Should You Do When The Engine Goes Silent?

This axiom has more than a ring of truth for all pilots, as there is no quicker way to make a pilot's heart skip a beat -- or fifty -- than to have the engine quit while in flight.

What's the very first thing you do in the event of engine failure? That's right -- fly the airplane. But what about after that? In today's ANN Special Report, Tom Turner chats with Aero-News Senior Editor Pete Combs about the correct procedures to follow should your piston-powered aircraft suddenly become a glider (hint... the above picture is NOT one of them.)
