Alaska Airlines Pilots Elected Four New Officers to Board

Some New Faces, Some Old for Alaska’s Busy Master Executive Council

The officers will represent the carrier's 3,400 strong pilot base and "lead pilot efforts during this critical time for the airline as it continues to work through the logistical challenges of the Boeing 737 MAX 9 return to service".

That's not the only headache on the docket at the moment, with a potential Hawaiian Airlines merger in the cards, too. The new brass will serve 2-year terms expiring on March 1, 2026.

The 'new' Chair will be Will McQuillen, the Vice Chair Garin Tentschert, the Treasurer Dan Richards, and the Secretary Scott Rubins - Captains all. The majority fly the 737 airframe, and bring a variety of experience in everything from the usual military careers to years in the bureaucratic bowels of airline labor relations.

Captain McQuillen is technically a returning face, the reelected chair of the Alaska Master Executive Council. He initially joined the committee in 2018, after 12 years with Alaska. “It is an honor to represent my fellow pilots as we continue to protect and improve the collective bargaining agreement, which includes work rules and job security for all Alaska Airlines pilots. We look forward to working with our colleagues at Hawaiian Airlines as we move together toward a productive future should this merger be approved.”
