Boeing Insitu Gets $71M Navy Contract Modification For Blackjack UAS Production

Covers Lot One Full-Rate Production Work

Boeing‘s Insitu subsidiary has been awarded a $70.8 million contract modification to build and deliver six RQ-21A Blackjack unmanned aircraft systems to the U.S. Navy and Marine Corps.

The modification exercises an option on a previously awarded firm-fixed-price contract and covers lot 1 full-rate production work as well as systems engineering and program management services, the Defense Department said Monday.

The RQ-21A UAS comprises air vehicles, ground control terminals, multimission plug-and-play payloads, launch and recovery equipment.

Insitu will perform work in Bingen, Washington and Hood River, Oregon through February 2018.

DoD said the full obligated amount at the time of award is from the Navy’s fiscal 2017 overseas contingency operations aircraft procurement funds and the Marine Corps’ fiscal 2017 procurement funds.
