Aer Lingus Expands Long-Haul Capacity

Parent Company IAG Confirms Order For Two A330-300 Aircraft

Aer Lingus' parent company IAG has confirmed that it has ordered two A330-300 aircraft to expand the Irish carrier's long-haul fleet. The two planes are expected to be delivered next year.

IAG also confirmed that it has placed an order for two A330-200 airliners that will be delivered to Iberia in 2017 and 2018, according to Buying Business Travel.

In the single-aisle category, IAG will be taking delivery of 15 Airbus A320neo airplanes between 2018 and 2021, which the company said would be used for "fleet replacement."

“The modern, fuel efficient aircraft will bring both cost efficiencies and environmental benefits to the airlines,” IAG said in a statement.
