Event Being Held January 6-8 in Ontario, CA
This year, AMA Expo West, presented by ReadyMadeRC.com, has teamed up with Fly Robotics to offer two educational trainings aimed at providing public safety officers and commercial drone users with the knowledge needed to fly UAS technology safely and responsibly. The trainings will take place during the three-day expo, January 6-8 in Ontario, California and will also be available throughout 2017.

Part 107 Preparatory Training will provide commercial UAS pilots with the information they need to pass the Federal Aviation Administration’s (FAA) Part 107 Remote Pilot test. The class is tailored around the FAA’s recently released regulations surrounding the commercial use of sUAS. The training will be applicable to pilots of all skill levels, and will be offered from 11:30 AM – 1:30 PM on Friday, January 6.
Public Safety UAS Training will put public safety officers through a series of flight exercises that test hand-eye coordination and orientation management. Attendees will then apply the skills they’ve learned through a series of Live Flight Public Safety Scenarios, where each operator completes a search-and-rescue mission, active shooter recon, suspicious package inspection, and structure fire site management training. The training will be offered from 3:00 – 5:00 PM on Friday, January 6. Space is limited, so please email juliab@modelaircraft.org to RSVP for the free session.
Courses will also be offered around the country throughout 2017:

- April 20-22, Indianapolis, Indiana
