IAA Gains Approval To Train Vietnamese Pilots

CAAV Sanctions Spartan Group School At DuPage

The Illinois Aviation Academy at DuPage County Airport (KDPA) in West Chicago, Illinois, announced it has been approved by the Civil Aviation Authority of Vietnam to train Vietnamese pilots under internationally recognized standards. IAA will now be able to support Vietnam’s burgeoning demand for pro pilots.

IAA, a Spartan Education Group school, will also be able to provide Vietnamese student pilots flight training that aligns with the requirements of both the FAA and CAAV. When they graduate, their licenses and qualifications convert to be used in Vietnam.

Robert Werderich, Executive Vice President of Illinois Aviation Academy said, “From the first day of training, we provide students with personalized support from experienced instructors. They gain experience flying in a wide range of weather conditions and navigate complex airspace from well-equipped airports.”

IAA has been known for student-focused flight training for more than 30 years. It has led pilots from fundamentals of aviation to Private Pilot certification, through to Certified Flight Instructor, with the advanced ratings and certifications along the way. All of the training levels include ground school classes and studies.

Illinois Aviation Academy has a 30,000-square-foot facility, 30-plus aircraft in its fleet, as well as a simulator at its satellite facility at DeKalb Taylor Municipal Airport (KDKB) in DeKalb, Illinois. Together, these facilities enable one-on-one student support and ample resources.

Spartan Education Group is headquartered in Chicago and in addition to IAA operates McAir Aviation flight school in Broomfield, Colorado. SEG acquired Spartan College of Aeronautics and Technology in 2012 and since its inception in 1928 has trained more than 100,000 pilots and aircraft technicians between those flight schools and its four facilities in Tulsa, Oklahoma, Los Angeles and Riverside, California, and Denver, Colorado.
