Montaer Grows with New Service Provider, Operator

With a Foothold in the US, Up-and-Comer Finds Footing with Expanding Clientele

Ocala Aviation Flight Services announced a partnership with Montaer Aircraft that will see them use the MC-01 aircraft as the primary trainer in its Part 61 and Part 141 operations. The agreement “marks a significant step in Ocala Aviation’s mission to modernize its training fleet, enhance operational efficiency, and provide unparalleled training experiences to its new students,” though price probably factors in there somewhere too. The relationship will also see Ocala take up the role of service provider for the MC-01 aircraft, providing sales, training and support to would-be Montaer customers.

Busy Week for John and Martha King

Everyone's Ground School Teachers Are Always Popular Around the Patch

John and Martha King have had a busy week at Sun 'n Fun 2024, pulled this way and that as they bounced from one interview, award, or speaking engagement to the next. Among that roster of interviews, John & Martha's appearance on the SNF Morning Brief - hosted by Aero-News Editor in Chief Jim Campbell - was surely a high point. But along the way, the Kings managed to get a whole lot done. First off, Martha awarded the Women in Aviation International Martha King Scholarship for Female Flight Instructors to Jamie Klaes, an Alaskan pilot who's quickly becoming a pillar of the rural flying community there.

The end result combines video of any flight with a configurable overlay showing its position, parameters, location, route, and even accuracy against an approach.

The newest Junkers is a faithful recreation that mates a 7-cylinder Verner radial engine to the airframe offered last year with a Rotax 912... but a desire for more historic accuracy led to the A50 Heritage. The Helicycle has gone through a number of owners and iterations but looks to be in good hands with a company that keeps tweaking and improving this unique turbine single-engine, single-seat kit helicopter. The Brazilian Montaer MC-01 is about to be joined by a four-place sibling, the MC-04. The two-seater is holding its own though with a number of impressive fleet sales and growing pop

While there has been some consideration, off and on, toward updating the nearly 5 pound book, the near implosion of the SportPlane and kit industry over the last decade has made such a pursuit an unwieldy one... until now.
