Mondo Sale Will Expand NetJets Fleet by 250 Praetor 500s
One can only imagine the hi-fives around Embraer today, when word came in that the company has sold $5 billion in Praetor 500s to longtime customer NetJets Aviation. The sale will provide 250 of the aircraft, which will join the NetJets fleet of similar Embraer models like the midsize Praetor 500 and older Phenom 300. The operator has continued to wax in popularity since the 2020 travel shakeup, when restrictive airline and airport conditions chased well-heeled clientele right into the arms of fractional jet and charter operators around the world.
Changes to Arrivals, Departures, and Schedules to be Reviewed in June 14 Webinar
The EAA has announced a few FAA-approved changes in the AirVenture Oshkosh 2023 arrival & departure procedures. The most noticeable changes will include a change in the ultralight pattern at Wittman Regional Airport, revised guidance for parking areas in the North and South 40, Elimination of the "Fond du Lac" diversion procedure, and some slight changes to air show schedules. The anniversary aircraft was allotted to PlaneSense—the Portsmouth, New Hampshire-based fractional aircraft ownership concern—by way of symbolic thanks for the company’s long-standing loyalty to the Pilatus marque.

NetJets Pilots Turn Out In Hundreds for Info Picket
The NetJets Association of Shared Aircraft Pilots (NJASAP) hosted the "largest informational picket in NetJets history" on May 6th, taking issue with the company's handling of the NetJets Brand. The picket took place during the 2023 Berkshire Hathaway Shareholders' Meeting in Omaha, Nebraska, with more than 800 off-duty NetJets pilots & family stood up to represent the 3,000+ pilots that work for the operator. NetJets Aviation is a subsidiary of Berkshire, making them a prime pressure point for a pilot base that feels unheard by their immediate executives.
On 28 March 2023, Archer Aviation, the California-based designer of electric vertical takeoff and landing (eVTOL) aircraft, announced that its eVTOL, dubbed Midnight, had recently completed a six-week series of tests in RUAG’s Large Subsonic Wind Tunnel in Emmen, Switzerland. On 11 May, the company set forth it had completed final assembly of the first full-scale Midnight aircraft and shipped the machine from Archer’s Palo Alto facility to its Salinas flight test installation, where a ground-testing campaign is to be presently embarked upon.

The commander overseeing the US Air Force's pilot training efforts was removed from his post following an investigation into possible misconduct. Major General Phillip Stewart was cut loose due to what Air Education and Training Command head Lieutenant General Brian Robinson called "a loss of confidence in his ability to lead”. Steward had been on the job for less than a year, with the alleged conduct somewhat mysterious while the investigation remains underway. For the time being, Stewart will be replaced by his former deputy, Brigadier General Christopher Amrhein, until further notice.
The NTSB has released its final report on a 02 October 2022 accident in which the pilot of a 1946 Aeronca 7AC, registration N3005E, was seriously injured and the airplane substantially damaged following a mishap since attributed to faulty aircraft maintenance.
Aero Linx: Classic Airplane Association of Arizona
The Classic Airplane Association of Arizona, Inc. (CAAA) was incorporated in Arizona as a not for profit corporation on January 10, 2014. The CAAA roster includes over 100 members. Although most are from Arizona, membership is open to anyone anywhere who has an interest in antique and classic aircraft. It is not necessary to own an aircraft or to have a pilot license to become a member. Meetings are typically held at the Casa Grande Airport on the last Saturday of each month and is open to all members.
