Service Vehicle Damages Thai Airbus A380

Food Delivery Truck Hit Wing Of The Superjumbo

A Thai Airways International Airbus A380 was damaged on Thursday when a food delivery vehicle struck the wing of the airplane parked at Charles de Gaulle Airport in Paris, France.

The aircraft had been scheduled for a flight from Paris to Bangkok, but was grounded for a few days for repairs instead.

Photos of the damaged plane made the rounds of social media after the incident. The Bangkok post reports that THAI president Charamporn Jotikasthira confirmed the accident, and said the passengers had been accommodated on other airlines. Thai flew an empty aircraft to Paris to prevent further delays.

Transport Minister ACM Prajin Juntong placed the responsibility for the accident on the airport ground service provider, according to the report.
