Rack 'Em Up... Gulfstream Announces New City-Pair Records

G700 Sets New Standard for 50 Legs En Route to Singapore

Gulfstream arrived at the Singapore Airshow with 50 city-pair speed records under its wing, making a trip of 5,197 nm in 10h13m using a brand-new G700.

The trip began in Los Angeles, California, to Nice, France in the first leg at an average speed of 0.90 Mach. Then, Gulfstream did it again, heading from Nice to Singapore for a 5,754 nm trip in 11h30m at the same speed. That made its 51st speed record for the marque, who keeps setting new standards in just how quickly global trade hubs can be connected with their ultra-capable G700. Previously, the model made the run from Savannah, Georgia to Tokyo, Japan in 10h53m, running at an average speed of 0.91 Mach.

While it may seem like idle boasting in an industry rife with bizjet competitors, it's a good chance for Gulfstream to emphasize its strengths, particularly in its flagship aircraft. The G700 is a long-legged, fleet footed aircraft, but even so it prioritizes comfort and spaciousness a tad more than the "ultralong-range Gulfstream G800" in their catalog.

“These latest records once again prove that the G700 can help our customers reach their destinations faster,” said Mark Burns, president, Gulfstream. “We are excited to return to the Singapore Airshow as we continue to see impressive business growth in the Asia-Pacific region. Demand for Gulfstream’s high- performance capabilities has never been greater, and we look forward to showcasing our next- generation aircraft, which lead the industry in innovation, performance and cabin comfort.”
