Red River College Launches Summer Session

Teams Up With Harv's

Red River College Steinbach Campus, Manitoba, is getting together with Harv's Air Pilot Training to offer its Business Studies Certificate Program in a Summer Session starting on June 16, 2003.  Full time Business Studies students, who start their program on June 16, will be able to complete the 12-course Business Studies Certificate by the end of December 2003.

"We are responding to the requests of international pilot trainees who are enrolling in our programs at Harv's Air," said Adam Penner, Operations Manager,  Harv's Air Pilot Training Centre.  "Many pilots move into the business and management side of the commercial airline industry.  The Red River College Steinbach Campus Business Studies Certificate will get our pilot trainees started on developing the skills and knowledge they need to take on management and administrative positions with airline companies that employ them."

Flight Ticket And Degree

Pilot trainees will enroll in the program on a full time basis for the summer session, and will complete their program of studies on a part-time basis through fall and winter 2003 - 2004. They will be able to complete the full Business Studies Certificate in nine months, depending on their course selection from options available at RRC Steinbach Campus.

"Those students interested in the Red River College Business Administration Diploma will be able to complete the full first year of the BA Diploma at the Red River College Steinbach Campus," said Garry Enns, RRC Steinbach Campus Manager.  "With first year complete, students will have the option to continue in the 2nd year of the Diploma program on a full-time basis at the RRC Notre Dame Campus in Winnipeg or on a part-time basis through Distance Education wherever they are working."

Eight international students indicate they plan to attend the RRC Steinbach Campus summer session in Business Studies. They will be joined by other international students in the fall. The Business Studies Fall program start date is September 22.

"Establishing a Summer Session at RRC Steinbach Campus means students in southeast Manitoba can get a jump-start on their business studies programs this year," said Garry Enns. "This program is not limited to international students. As with all of our programs, registration is on a first come, first served basis. We are accepting registrations right now."
