Frasca 172 Simulator Gets Level 6 Approval In Korea

First Flight Training Device To Be So Approved In That Country

Korea Aerospace University (KAU) has received Dah approval (the equivalent of FAA Level 6) on their Frasca Cessna 172S Flight Training Device (FTD). This is the first FTD to achieve this level of approval in Korea. The FTD was installed at the Korea Aerospace University Flight Training Center located on Jeju Island last month and will be used by KAL for initial pilot training.

The FTD features actual Garmin G1000 avionics, G700 autopilot, Frasca TruVision visual system with 220° x 58° spherical display, actual aircraft cockpit, Electrical control loading and comprehensive instructor's facility.

"Recently and with pride the Korean Aeronautical University (KAU) and the Korean Civil Aviation Safety Authority (CASA), qualified KAU’s newly installed Frasca C172S Flight Training Device (FTD) as the very first Korean Level Dah FTD. The CASA Level Dah has similar requirements to the FAA Level 6 FTD. The FTD was installed at KAU’s Flight Training Center on the delightful Jeju Island, just off the Korean south coast," said Mr. Sang Hun Chae, President, Master-Tech International, Inc. and agent for Frasca International.
