Milwaukee TFR May Affect Oshkosh-Bound Pilots

Thunderbirds Perform At Lakefront Show Saturday, Sunday

Another TFR has been established that could affect pilots who planned a scenic flight along the Milwaukee lakefront before heading to Ripon.

The Air Force Thunderbirds are performing at the Milwaukee Air and Water Show Veterans Park Night Show on Saturday before heading to Oshkosh for opening day. A TFR has been put in place along the Milwaukee lakefront beginning late Saturday afternoon until late Sunday morning to accommodate the performance.

FAA describes the TFR area as On the BADGER VORTAC (BAE) 104 degree radial at 18.1 nautical miles. (Latitude: 43º01'59"N, Longitude: 87º53'20"W) Radius:  5 nautical miles Altitude:  From the surface up to and including 16000 feet MSL From July 25, 2009 at 2300 UTC to July 26, 2009 at 0230 UTC.

The TFR states that no aircraft may operate in the area unless authorized by ATC. Be sure to consult with FSS for the latest NOTAM's along your route of flight.
