"The average GA aircraft is 35 years old, according to the FAA. But GA aircraft, regardless of age, are safe."

Source: Luis Gutierrez, AOPA director of regulatory and certification policy, speaking on the FAA's recent conference on aging aircraft, held in Kansas City, MO last week. The Aircraft Owners And Pilots Association believes better education and access to maintenance resources are the answer to combating possible problems with older aircraft -- not increased regulation.
