Embraer Announces Firm Order For Six A-29 Super Tucanos

Customer Undisclosed, Deliveries Scheduled For 2026

Embraer announced a firm order for six of its advanced trainer and light attack A-29 Super Tucanos from an undisclosed customer. The order will be included in its 2024 Q4 backlog, with deliveries scheduled for 2026.

The aircraft will be equipped with advanced capabilities for missions such as battlefield air interdiction, close air support, maritime patrol, maritime strike, and other territorial defense operations.

Bosco da Costa Junior, President and CEO of Embraer Defense & Security said, “We are thrilled to announce new sales of the A-29 Super Tucano, as we see this aircraft as the right fit for many nations around the world. The A-29 is the global leader in its category because it’s a proven, reliable and well advanced aircraft.”

The A-29 Super Tucano is a multi-mission aircraft that provides air forces with versatility for armed reconnaissance, close air support, light attack, and advanced training missions in one platform. This capability greatly increases its availability and operational flexibility, and its sturdy airframe enables the aircraft to operate from unpaved runways and in austere environments.

Embraer has more than 290 orders for the Super Tucano aircraft, with more than 570,000 flight hours across the global fleet, 60,000 of which were in combat. In 2024 alone, Embraer sold Super Tucanos to the air forces of Portugal, Uruguay, and Paraguay.
