EAA Reminds Warbird Owners to Dot their I’s before AirVenture

Pre-Registration Stressed for Parking, Air Show Participation

The EAA has reminded would-be attendees of AirVenture 2023 to double check their paperwork before the fly-out now that the show is more or less a month away.

In order to bring a warbird to Oshkosh for the big shindig, pilots must have a current EAA Warbirds of America membership, valid through at least 07/31/2023. There’s still time to sight up, should it be needed. Only current, active members may open up the Warbirds pre-registration system, and a last-minute introduction during the show is probably not in the cards when there are hundreds of aircraft and thousands of attendees , zipping to and fro throughout AirVenture.

Before flying into the daily EAA Warbirds of America air show, pilots must submit all air show documentation electronically, including their medical certificate, pilot certificate (front and back), FAST card (if flying formation), and aircraft insurance. The EAA recommends having electronic versions ready to upload during pre-registration.

Those hoping to snag a primo parking spot for their baby on Warbird alley will have to pre-register for that, too, though the process will not require the same level of paperwork to secure a spot. Registration for everything is open until “the day before you expect to arrive at EAA AirVenture Oshkosh 2023,” according to the notice.

For those fortunate enough to own a small fleet of their own, the EAA allows pre-registration of more than one aircraft during the same session.
