United Pilots Pick New MEC Leadership

ALPA Union Sees 27-year United Vet Take the Help as Chair

The United Airlines Master Executive Council (MEC) of the Air Line Pilots Association, Int’l (ALPA) elected Captain Anne Worster to serve as the pilot group’s next chair.

Worster brings 27 years of experience as a United Airlines pilot, based today out of Washington, D.C., on the Boeing 777. She has gained experience in the game working as the MEC's current vice chair and first officer representative for Council 11, as well as chair and captain representative-elect for the Master Executive Council. Her past ALPA service work includes the stints with the Elections Ballot and Certification Board, the Legislative Committee, and the 747 fleet safety representative. The union also notes that Worster is a former KC-135 pilot and Gulf War vet, graduating from the USAF Academy in 1985.

“I am humbled to lead 17,000 United Airlines pilots,” said Worster. “I am confident that together, we will continue to navigate change, bound by solidarity and fueled by a shared commitment to elevate our collective journey over the next two years and beyond.”

Along with Worster's election, Captain Brian Noyes was reelected as MEC vice chair, with Captain Nick Harwood as MEC secretary. Rounding out the cabinet is Captain Andrew Minarcik for MEC treasurer. The bunch will serve 2-year terms through February 28, 2026.
