King Schools Announces Sweepstakes Winner

Tom McGowan Wins Loaded Skyhawk

If it's early in the year, it's sweepstakes time. Last month, Aero-News reported on the winner of the AOPA's 2005 Commander giveaway, Rob Melnick of Colorado... and we're now happy to report that Tom McGowan from Hicksville, NY is the lucky winner of the King Schools' New Century of Flight sweepstakes.

"When I was in the Air Force in the 1970s, I always dreamed about having my own airplane," said McGowan. "Thank you King Schools for turning this dream into a reality."

"The New Century of Flight sweepstakes celebrates general aviation with the most popular airplane ever built," said Martha King. "We’re delighted that N172KS was won by a resident of one of the cradles of aviation, Long Island, NY."

McGowan won a brand-new, fully-loaded Cessna 172S, equipped with a KLN 94 GPS, MFD and a KAP 140 two-axis autopilot.

In fact, about the only thing the airplane is missing is a glass-cockpit. That awaits the next award winner, who will receive a G1000-equipped 'Hawk as part of King School's upcoming "Future Is Now" sweepstakes.
