NATA, NBAA Chiefs Testify On Capitol Hill Next Week

Coyne, Longmuir To Ask For GA Access At Reagan National

The honchos at two high-profile advocacy groups will be on Capitol Hill next week, hoping to convince Congress to reopen Ronald Reagan National Airport to general aviation traffic.

James K. Coyne, president of the National Air Transportation Association (NATA), and Shelley A. Longmuir, President and CEO of the National Business Aviation Association (NBAA), will testify this coming Tuesday, March 16, before the House Subcommittee on Aviation, chaired by Rep. John Mica (R-FL).

The subject of the hearing is whether to reopen Ronald Reagan Washington National Airport (DCA) to non-scheduled commercial air carrier (charter) flights, which have been banned from the airport since the September 11, 2001, terrorist attacks.
