FlytBase Introduces AI-R To Manage Docked Drone Ops

Data Security, Video Streaming, Real-Time AI Processing

FlytBase Inc., out of San Jose, California, announced the launch of its Aerial Intelligence for Robots (AI-R), an advanced AI-driven framework to manage every aspect of docked drone operations including data security, video streaming, and real-time AI processing to enhance enterprise drone autonomy.

The AI-R platform helps enterprise drone operators address the challenges associated with scaling autonomous programs. It accomplishes this through its core component, the AI-R Edge, an industrial-grade Accelerated Compute Unit (ACU) that enables real-time decision-making through the integration of AI.

The AI-R Edge offers flexible installation options for enterprises to deploy the unit within a dock’s communication box or in a central server rack. It is currently compatible with the DJI Dock and DJI Dock 2, and support for additional docking capabilities are in development.

The AI-R Edge features:

Advanced Data Security – contains a firewall-protected environment with comprehensive data monitoring and full visibility into network activity for strict organizational IT compliance

Live Streaming Engine – a proprietary stream engine reduces streaming costs up to 5x through local coding and decoding, and can be scaled across multiple docks without proportional increased cost

Real-Time Detection, Counting & Logging – enables instant object detection, automated counting, and real-time alerts with minimum latency as well as maintaining event logs with metadata

Nitin Gupta, Founder & CEO of FlytBase said, "True autonomy requires more than just flight automation. The vision of AIR is to transform remotely piloted vehicles into autonomous aerial robots capable of learning, adapting, and optimizing themselves over time.”

The AI-R Edge has gone through successful beta testing with several enterprises, and FlytBase also offers partner programs for customization, integration with existing infrastructure and automation systems, and flexibility for specialized data processing.
