At the 2013 NBAA convention, ANN CEO and Editor-In-Chief, Jim Campbell interviews EAA’s Jack Pelton. As usual, Jim knows the right questions to ask. Jim starts his questioning by asking Jack why EAA is at the NBAA convention. Pelton’s response is that EAA is not a business aircraft organization; it’s for pilots and aviation enthusiasts, and that’s part of NBAA.
Because of Pelton’s previous experience with the Cessna Aircraft Company, Jim asked pointed questions about the Sky Catcher and about the remanufacturing of Cessna 172’s to be used as training planes. Pelton expresses concern about the loss of the Sky Catcher as an affordable primary trainer. He says it’s an interesting concept to take an existing airplane like an older Cessna 172 and remanufacture it into a modern training plane similar to what Redbird is doing. Don’t miss this video to learn from Jack Pelton; he’s a man that knows the story.
