GoPro Is Set To Get Into The Quadcopter Market

Plans Announced At Code Conference In California

Many of the quadcopters on the market today have an accessory for mounting a GoPro camera. It would seem that GoPro CEO Nick Woodman took note, because at the Code conference in Rancho Palos Verdes, CA Wednesday, he announced that the camera company boss announced that they would be bringing their own quadcopter to marked next year.

There are a lot of details that are still to be firmed up about the GoPro quadcopter, including what it will cost, according to a report in USA Today. But The Verge reports that Woodman said that GoPro is a "consumer focused company, so there is speculation that it will fall in the range of the DJI, Parrot, or 3D Robotics products.

Woodman said that when you let people fly their cameras, "it enables their imagination."

Woodman also announced a new camera product, which consists of a cluster of six Hero 4 cameras that will capture "spherical content," according to USA Today. And, he said the company is working on software that will automatically sync content from their cameras to the cloud.
