Hillary Clinton Promises (?) Area 51 Investigation

But Comments To New Hampshire Reporter Have Been Described As 'Tongue-In-Cheek'

The notion that extraterrestrials have visited Earth is one that does not seem so far-fetched to the front-runner for the Democratic Presidential nomination.

Or not.

During a meeting with the editorial board of the Conway (NH) Daily Sun last week, a reporter asked Hillary Clinton about a conversation they had had in 2007 about UFOs. The Daily Sun reports that Clinton "seemed to have fun" discussing the topic, and Area 51, saying "Yes, I'm going to get to the bottom of it."

In 2014, after former President Bill Clinton told late night TV host Jimmy Kimmel that he believed that there are other intelligent species in the universe ... "I just hope it's not like 'Independence Day'," the former President said ... Mrs. Clinton, when asked about the comments, said "I think we may have been (visited already), We don't know for sure."

Clinton's campaign chairman John Podesta, a former White House Chief of Staff, is also apparently a believer in UFOs and alien intelligence.

But when Clinton made her remarks, described by one Daily Sun reporter as "off the cuff," and "jokes about area 51," the story became international news.

So whether an investigation of Area 51 would be a priority for a Hillary Clinton administration is an open question. What is proven by the exchange is that candidates of all stripes can be asked questions about anything while campaigning.
