Piper Holding Recruiting Event In Wichita

Career Fair Set For October 7 For Jobs In Vero Beach, FL

It looks like there is some new activity around the Piper Altaire jet project, as Piper Aircraft will be holding a career fair at Century II in Wichita, KS for a number of positions open at the company's Vero Beach, FL manufacturing campus. The event is planned for 0800-1800 on Friday, October 7. The company says it is looking for a number of qualified and experienced aviation professionals for its ongoing aircraft manufacturing activity.

“Most of our open positions are for a variety of engineering disciplines but we also have other positions that are available,” say Piper Director of Human Resources Ellen Sobczak, SPHR. “We ask applicants to submit their resumes online at jobs@piper.com prior to being interviewed by the hiring managers who will be in Wichita.”

All of the positions being recruited are located in Vero Beach, FL, site of Piper’s manufacturing campus and on the Atlantic coast. Money Magazine has called Vero Beach one of the “Top Beach Towns” and one of “The Best Places to Live on the Coast.”

Immediate requirements are for:

  • Manufacturing Engineers, All Levels
  • Manufacturing Lead Engineer, Systems
  • Industrial Engineers, Senior
  • Stress Analysts, All Levels
  • Mechanical Systems Engineer
  • Sr. Engineer, ECS
  • Senior Mechanical Systems Engineer
  • Senior Flight Test Engineers
  • Senior Quality Engineers
  • Senior Quality Procurement Engineers
  • Senior Avionic/Electrical Engineers
  • Manager Test Instrumentation Engineers
  • Mid to Senior Aerodynamics – Advanced Design
  • Senior DERs- All Disciplines

“Piper employs more than 800 people who comprise a team of dedicated, passionate individuals who care about what they do and really make a difference,” Sobczak says. Piper provides a dynamic and positive working environment that empowers employees to be and do their best, along with advanced training, state-of-the-art facilities, and industry-leading support programs.

Many of the positions that the company seeks will be for the company’s new single-engine Altaire business jet which is progressing toward its maiden flight in 2012, with certification and first customer deliveries in 2014. The Piper Altaire is an entry-level jet with the economics of a turboprop and the cabin size and capabilities of a much larger business jet. The company’s backlog is sufficient for the first three years of production.
