Savback Helicopters Introduces 'Advancements' in Helicopter Technology

Savback Helicopters Debuts New Helicopter Advancements at AERO Friedrichshafen

Savback Helicopters made an impact at the 30th edition of AERO Friedrichshafen, as it introduced advancements in helicopter technology and seeks to expand its market reach. The Sweden-based helicopter and fixed-wing sales specialist, which is the exclusive distributor for Konner helicopters in several European countries, showcased two models from its inventory: the Airbus Helicopters' H160 and the light utility H125.

A pivotal development for Savback is the recent certification of Konner's K1-S19 turbine helicopter by Sweden's Civil Aviation Authority. This ultra-light aircraft, featuring a 250 shp turbine engine augmented by a 100 shp electric motor, stands out with its innovative Hybrid Assistance System (HAS). This system is designed to engage an additional electric engine during rotor speed loss, ensuring 100% power continuity and significantly enhancing pilot safety by addressing the risks associated with the traditional 'Dead Man's Curve.'

The certification of the K1-S19 in Sweden follows approvals in Finland, Germany, and Italy, with ongoing accreditation efforts in Norway and Denmark promising further expansion of Konner's market presence. Michael Savbäck, CEO and founder of Savback, expressed enthusiasm about the advancements, noting, "We are delighted with how country certification is progressing for these remarkable helicopters. This internationally revered Show is the ideal showcase as we step up our marketing efforts."

In addition to promoting the K1-S19, Savback has introduced the K1-S19 as a sales demonstrator and is actively engaging with flying schools in Sweden and Norway to bolster training and usage. The K1-S19, designed for private ownership, features a luxurious Italian interior and a versatile TK-250 turboshaft engine compatible with various fuels and equipped with full FADEC for optimal engine management.

Moreover, Savback is also spotlighting the Konner K3 Anfibio, an amphibious helicopter prototype that blends aerial and aquatic capabilities. Introduced at last year's AERO Friedrichshafen, the K3 Anfibio is designed to take off and land on water, powered by the same hybrid TK-250 turbine and constructed with a carbon fibre body, setting new standards in versatility and design for hybrid aircraft.

These innovations by Savback Helicopters and Konner at AERO Friedrichshafen reflect a significant leap forward in the integration of hybrid technologies in aviation, promising enhanced safety, versatility, and sustainability in the sector
