NavAero Class 2 EFB Selected For Continental's Boeing 757/767s

t-BagC2 To Be Installed Beginning In 2008

NavAero's t-BagC2 computer and display hardware has been chosen as the EFB flight deck hardware by Continental Airlines to equip the carrier’s B757 and B767 fleets.

Continental made the choice for the navAero Class 2 EFB solution for the superior operational functionalities and retrofit cost savings they will realize through the deployment of t-BagC2 hardware technology.

"The EFB will help us run more efficiently," said Fred Abbott, Continental’s vice president flight operations. "We chose to partner with NavAero on this important strategic initiative because they provide us with a product which has unlimited growth potential. The navAero EFB allows us to meet one of our highest priorities which is to provide the airport moving map application to our pilots."

Dual installations of the navAero t-BagC2 hardware systems will be installed on the B757 200/300 and B767 200/400 flight-decks. Certification for these airframes is being executed by navAero. As a Class II device, the navAero t-BagC2 system is suitable for use during all phases of flight.

Deployments on Continental Airlines fleets will start during calendar year 2008. EFB installations are scheduled to commence in Q1 2008, and it is anticipated that these fleets will be fully deployed and operational by early 2009.

"We are extremely excited to have industry icon, Continental Airlines, as the newest member of our fast-growing list of airlines who have seen navAero’s technology as the way-to-go for EFB hardware," said Ken Crowhurst, navAero Executive Vice President. "We are providing a robust yet cost-effective solution that meets the most demanding environmental as well as ROI standards. And for our customers, that means they are getting an affordable business tool that can help them improve productivity and operating efficiency through access to data on a platform they can depend upon. Our customers choose the applications that makes sense for their business mission – we are simply the technology enabler that gives them the ability to have their needs fulfilled."
