Branson Airport Adds Second Carrier

Sun Country To Provide Service To MSP

As opening day approaches for Branson Airport, the first privately developed and operated commercial service airport in the US, officials announced this week Sun Country Airlines will provide exclusive non-stop service from Minneapolis-St. Paul, MN to Branson, MO when the airport opens May 11.

Sun Country becomes the second air carrier to announce service to the Branson Airport. As ANN reported, AirTran Airways will provide daily roundtrip nonstop flights from Atlanta and Milwaukee to Branson.

"We are excited to welcome Sun Country Airlines as the second air carrier to provide service to the Branson Airport," said Jeff Bourk, Executive Director of Branson Airport. "We look forward to welcoming Minnesota travelers to Branson where they can enjoy all the attractions we have to offer."

"We are pleased to be the only airline offering service to Branson out of the Twin Cities," added Stan Gadek, Chairman and CEO of Sun Country Airlines. "The addition of Branson is a positive step for Sun Country's future. We look forward to providing non-stop service to a great new destination, featuring the low fares and award-winning service that Sun Country is known for."

Sun Country Airlines will fly one route to and from Branson on Mondays, Wednesdays and Saturdays. The carrier is touting a special $79 one-way introductory base fare.
