Hélicoptères Guimbal and Precision Services Host Training Event

Training the Trainers

September 2023 saw flight-instructors and aircraft owners from across the U.S. travel to Oregon for purpose of participating in Hélicoptères Guimbal Factory Instructor Training. The event was jointly hosted by Guimbal and Precision Support Services, LLC, the McMinnville, Oregon-based U.S. distributor and service center for Hélicoptères Guimbal’s Cabri G2—a two-seat light-helicopter produced by the French rotorcraft marque.

The training event complemented the release of Guimbal’s Flight Instructor Guide, a training aid instantiating Guimbal’s customer support ethos and evincing the company’s dedication to the safe operation and proficient maintenance of its aircraft.

Provided by Guimbal Factory Pilots and developed in partnership with a global network of Guimbal distributors, the training contemporaneously reinforced cockpit best practices and addressed actual and potential mistakes commonly observed in helicopter flight-training.

Hélicoptères Guimbal espouses the belief that aircraft manufacturers are fiduciarily obligated to ensure their products are operated competently and responsibly.

Sarah Brazel, manager for Guimbal sales and support for Precision Support Services, set forth: “Guimbal doesn’t just want to make the safest trainer on the market, they want the people flying their aircraft to also be the safest pilots; this is why they prioritize training and use their extensive experience and real-world data from their operators to continually update and train operators in best practices.”

Deriving of Hélicoptères Guimbal’s Instructor Factory Training (IFT) curriculum, the recently published Flight Instructor Guide is available to all G2 instructors. The optimal means by which to plumb and implement the Guide’s contents is for lay instructors to train with Guimbal factory pilots—the so-called train the trainer praxis.

Precision Support Services CEO Davit Rath remarked: “As an operator of many different aircraft, we understand no two aircraft are the same and they all require a tailored approach. Solid training, especially when talking about the flight-training realm which has its unique challenges, is an investment in the safety of students, instructors, aircraft, and the future of the Guimbal product.”

Guimbal and Precision plan to host a yearly U.S.-based iteration of the described training in McMinnville, Oregon.
