Upgraded: Three Become Presidents at BAE

BAE SYSTEMS North America has appointed three presidents to lead key lines of business within the Information and Electronic Warfare Systems (IEWS) business unit, headquartered in Nashua (NH). The three lines of business were formed March 31 of this year to create business growth opportunities.

  • Don Donovan was promoted from Vice President to President of IEWS Electronic Warfare/Electronic (EW/EP) Protection line of business, which includes infrared and radio frequency countermeasures, the F/A-22 and Joint Strike Fighter, and Threat Warning and Defensive Systems.
  • Mike Heffron, formerly Vice President of IEWS' Electronic Warfare/Information Warfare (EW/IW) line of business, has now been named president of that line of business. Heffron has overall responsibility for the company's Information Dominance Systems, Space Systems & Electronics, and Advanced Systems areas, and several more information operations product lines.
  • John Lydiard is now President of IEWS' Mission Electronics line of business, with overall responsibility for the company's Mission Electronics and Infrared Imaging Systems areas. He also retains additional responsibility as IEWS general manager for the unit's operational support of all three lines of business.

"Given the size and strategic importance of the businesses these three executives lead and operate," the promotions are consistent with their expanded responsibilities, said Galen Ho, president of both the IEWS business unit and its parent Information & Electronic Systems Integration Sector. He added that the three new presidencies also reinforce the unit's line of business focus, which grouped mutually supporting business areas together.
