Sirius Aviation To Unveil Hydrogen-Powered Personal Jet

'SiriusJet' Hopes to Provide Guilt-Free, Fast Personal Travel for 4

Sirius Aviation AG is set to unveil their concept for the CEO Jet, a hydrogen-powered luxury business jet at the MOVE Expo in London.

The SiriusJet is the "first hydrogen-powered regional VTOL aircraft," according to the manufacturer, with a range of 1,150 miles and 323-mph cruise. The jet was officially displayed for the first time on June 10th on the Expo's main stage, giving Sirius Aviation CEO Alex Popov some time to show it off to those in attendance. The SiriusJet cuts a familiar figure to those who've watched the AAM industry in recent years, with a rounded, bulbous fuselage and a pair of high wings stuffed with small ducted fans. Sirius says it tapped BMW Group Designworks while designing the aircraft, "blending state-of-the-art technology with elegant design."

The firm hopes that the SiriusJet will 'set a new standard in aviation with its hydrogen propulsion system paired with luxurious business jet features," providing an efficient and guilt-free way for the well-heeled to enjoy the jet set life. Sirius emphasizes the level of customization buyers can exercise when filling out their orders, naming a long list of modifications and options to help make their personalized aircraft perfect for their mission. The usual amenities like custom coloration, upholstery, and carpeting are there in full force, with some very BMW-inspired design work in some of the cabin furnishings. Marble, hardwood, and the like help to make the interior feel less like the average bizjet, but the real attention-grabbers are the niceties like champagne fridges, pet spaces, wardrobes, custom bathrooms, unique art installations, minibars, kitchens, and specialized lighting. It's a very bespoke approach to private flight, and it will likely end up with the price tag to match.

Ultimately, those cross-shopping with other business jets will find the capacity a tough sell, since the Sirius Business Jet can carry a max of 3 passengers. Another model, the Sirius Millennium Jet, will bring that capacity up to 5 pax, but drop range down to 650 miles in an understandable tradeoff. Apparently, however, it's all still up in the air, with most of Sirius' work being done behind the scenes.
