U.S. Chamber President Donohue Will Address 2010 NBAA Convention

Business Aviation Advocate Will Keynote Opening General Session

The NBAA will welcome Thomas J. Donohue, president and CEO of the U.S. Chamber of Commerce as a keynote speaker during the Opening General Session of its 63rd Annual Meeting & Convention (NBAA2010).

Donohue's participation in NBAA's Convention highlights the long-standing importance of the event in bringing together leaders from business and government to articulate the value of business aviation to citizens, companies and communities across the U.S.  Donohue will be a keynote speaker on Tuesday, October 19, at the Convention's Opening General Session. The event runs through October 21 at the Georgia World Congress Center in Atlanta, GA. NBAA will showcase the excitement surrounding the Convention's kickoff by holding the Opening General Session right on the show's exhibit floor, which proved to be very popular at the 2009 convention.

"We are honored to have Tom Donohue join us at this year's Convention," said NBAA President and CEO Ed Bolen. "He is a respected and effective advocate for companies across the U.S."

In remarks before an Annual Aviation Summit hosted by the Chamber and held in Washington, DC earlier this year, Donohue (pictured, right) spoke about the value of all general aviation, including business aviation, as part of the fabric of the nation's economy and a critical transportation link to communities with little or no airline service.

Prior to being selected as president and CEO of the U.S. Chamber of Commerce in 1997, Donohue served for 13 years as president and CEO of the American Trucking Association, the national organization of the trucking industry. He also serves on the boards of directors of the Union Pacific Corporation and the Sunrise Senior Living Corporation. In addition, Donohue serves as president of the Center for International Private Enterprise, a program of the National Endowment for Democracy, which is dedicated to development of market-oriented institutions around the world.
