Drone Helps Locate Missing Woman In Malaysia

She Was Found Safe In The Jungle Behind Her Home

A Malaysian woman who had been reported missing on Saturday was found safe in the jungle behind her home, thanks to a drone owned by a private citizen.

The Malay Mail reports that the 31-year-old woman was located about 200 yards from her house on Saturday afternoon.  She had reportedly been missing since Friday.

“The woman, believed to be suffering from depression, was found in the jungle ... in a fatigue state with minor cuts all over her body," said Officer-in-charge of Pekan Fire and Rescue Station Wan Samsul Effendi Wan Mahmud.

“By using the drone belonging to a member of the public, we managed to detect movement in the jungle and eventually found her.”

The case has been turned over to local police for further investigation.
