Upgraded: Michael Sims

Unison Industries just announced that Michael Sims has been appointed to the position of vice president of operations. Sims reports to Brad Mottier, Unison's president. In his new position, Sims is responsible for the overall operations of Unison's four North American manufacturing facilities in Jacksonville (FL); Norwich (NY); Rockford (IL); and Saltillo, Mexico.

Sims started his career with GE Aircraft Engines in 1986 as a quality engineer after serving in the US Navy as a Naval Aviator. Sims has held various management positions in quality and manufacturing, and he has maintained an excellent record of operations leadership. After ten years with GE Aircraft Engines, Sims took a position with Technicolor Video Services to lead their North American distribution team. Sims also served as CEO of NEXPAK Corporation in Canton (OH), for two years. Sims returned to GE in 2001 as services general manager for the GE Engine Services facility in Strother (KS).

Sims holds a BS degree in mechanical engineering from the United States Naval Academy and a Masters in mechanical engineering from the University of Cincinnati. He will be relocating to Unison's headquarters in Jacksonville.
