Manufacturer’s Backlog Reached $31.3 Billion in Q32025, Far Outpacing 2024
Brazilian aircraft manufacturer Embraer has reported an “unprecedented high” in its backlog, hitting $31.3 billion across the board in the 3rd quarter of 2025. This total marks a 38% year-over-year increase, primarily driven by a 65% growth in the executive side of the business.

The commercial division accounted for nearly half the backlog, totaling $15.2 billion. That figure represents a nine-year high, bolstered by major deals with Avelo Airlines and LATAM Group for up to 174 E195-E2 aircraft combined. Deliveries for the quarter reached 20 jets, four more than last year’s third quarter, putting the company ahead of its annual delivery target. Embraer said the line remains stable and expects stronger output in 2026 as its “production leveling initiative” takes hold.
Executive aviation also turned in a milestone quarter. Backlog rose 65 percent to $7.3 billion, aided by continued demand for the Phenom 300 and Praetor 500. Embraer delivered its 2,000th business jet during the period, which was a Praetor 500 handed to a corporate client, and noted that 68 percent of its yearly guidance had already been met by the end of September. The company called the segment’s growth “unprecedented” while hinting that output will remain capped by supply-chain realities through next year.

In the defense and security sector, Embraer’s backlog climbed to $3.9 billion, supported by deliveries of one KC-390 Millennium to Portugal and new contracts for A-29 Super Tucanos to Panama and U.S. contractor SNC. Sweden, Slovakia, and Lithuania have also selected the KC-390 for future procurement, though those deals have yet to take effect. The Brazilian Air Force, meanwhile, trimmed its order from 19 to 18 aircraft in a joint cost-reduction agreement.
Services and support operations were another bright spot, recording a $4.9 billion backlog for a 40 percent increase from a year earlier. This was fueled by maintenance and training contracts across the Americas and Europe. The company described the sector as “one of the main drivers of Embraer’s growth through a combination of operational excellence, outstanding customer experience, and innovative solutions.”
