Aquiline Drones Supports Veteran Pilot Training

Grants Scholarship to VFW Commander

Aquiline Drones (AD) granted Connecticut VFW Commander Lee Wilson with their scholarship to AD’s Flight to the Future online drone pilot training program, after his entry to a local fly-in event raffle. The former Gulf War Army Sergeant is a technician employed by the Department of Connecticut for the Veterans of Foreign Wars post 1926 in Rocky Hill. After completion of his online course, he will earn an FAA Drone Pilot Certification, as well as industry-specific drone instruction and support in becoming an independent drone owner/operator.

The future looks bright for small drone businesses, a target market for Aquiline. Integration of autonomous systems is still in its adolescence at best, with industrial niches being found and exploited by hungry businesses willing to fight for market share. Aquiline specializes in offering systems that leverage cloud-based artificial intelligence to reduce costs and maximize performance with their services. With solutions to life-critical delivery, perimeter security, and surveillance ready for action, Aquiline is a good start for a drone operator to-be. Their online courses allow anyone to get into the burgeoning drone market as not only a pilot, but a business owner. The flexibility and hunger of an independent UAS operator can shake up staid, unimaginative management and expose potential customers to the utility of drones, perfect for a pilot looking to build a client base. For inspections of construction sites, tunnels, bridges, power lines, energy plants, railroad tracks, coastline, real estate, livestock, and public lands, drones can do work cheaper, quicker, and cleaner than the equivalent human observer, while simplifying recording and documentation throughout the process.

To build their knowledge base before entering the industry, pilots can virtually attend Aquiline’s Freedom to Fly (F2F) training course, where they will not only obtain their FAA Commercial Drone Pilot credentials, but advanced training in cloud and edge computing, AI, and IoT integration. Unlike a similar “how to fly” course that essentially teaches a student some regulations and remote control layout, F2F teaches students how to use AD’s proprietary command and control cloud platform. Fleet management, operational upkeep, safety, and compliance all add a professional aspect to student pilots, creating a sharper, more desirable operator. Before turning the newly-minted pilot loose, AD provides a course on all aspects of building a drone-based business, from analysis of lacking services, formation, insurance, leasing, and marketing. Military members and veterans are eligible for a discount on the course.
