Hawker Beechcraft Donates $50,000 To Corporate Angel Network

Planemaker Also Flies Cancer Patients On Company Flights

The Hawker Beechcraft Corporation Charitable Gift Fund has donated $50,000 to Corporate Angel Network (CAN), the public charity that coordinates free flights to treatment for cancer patients using empty seats in business aircraft. To date, Hawker Beechcraft has donated over $200,000 to CAN, part of which while both entities were under the Raytheon banner.

In addition to lift and financial support, Hawker Beechcraft Corporation’s Chairman and CEO, James E. Schuster, is a member of CAN’s Board of Directors and lends his considerable talents towards putting the resource of corporate aviation's lift to the service of cancer patients.

"Hawker Beechcraft is extremely proud to support Corporate Angel Network and will continue to help this organization deliver transport to cancer patients in need," said Jim Schuster, chairman and CEO, Hawker Beechcraft Corporation. "I commend all of those who help the Corporate Angel Network truly make a difference in the lives of people who are fighting Cancer across the US and I encourage more people to support this great organization."

"We are honored by this generous donation. Hawker Beechcraft (previously Raytheon Aircraft Company) has been an active participant in CAN since 1993 - taking cancer patients to critically needed treatment on scheduled business flights" said CAN’s Chairman, Randall Greene. "It is because of the dedicated support of aerospace leaders like Jim Schuster and companies like Hawker Beechcraft that the number of patients we help continues to grow."

Corporate Angel Network is a public charity that arranges free flights for cancer patients to treatment using empty seats on business aircraft. Since its founding 26 years ago, CAN has grown to include over 500 participating corporations, five paid staff, and a team of 50 part-time volunteers who work with patients, physicians, corporate flight departments, and leading treatment centers to coordinate medical travel needs of cancer patients with the scheduled flight activity of participating corporations.

To date, CAN has arranged more than 28,000 flights and currently provides nearly 3,000 patient flights annually.
