Swithblade Receives Full Funding For Production Launch

Conforming Prototype To Be Built

Samson Motors has received full funding for the launch of the Switchblade Multi-Mode Vehicle, the company announced Friday in conjunction with the Sebring LSA Expo in Florida. With testing milestones accomplished in both ground and air modes, the Switchblade now moves into construction and testing of the conforming, full-scale prototype.

“We are really excited to be able to move forward, and the timing seems very good”, said designer and CEO, Sam Bousfield.  “Several engine and material technologies have firmed up for us, and this is the ideal time for us to launch.”  Key supporters from around the world were instrumental in finishing the final raise of capital.

The Switchblade is driven from home to nearby airfield, where the wings swing out, tail moves back, and the vehicle can then be flown to the final destination.  Studies have shown that Point-to-Point transportation is the most efficient form, even compared to mass transit.  The problem has been accomplishing a successful integration of two very different modes of transportation.  “Underlying our success is the use of three wheels, rather than four”, claims Bousfield. “I call it the Lightest Common Denominator between driving and flying.”

Bousfield, whose background includes working with Boeing engineers on advanced aerodynamic designs that ultimately were used to re-calibrate the Swedish government wind tunnel, has committed the last six years to bringing the Switchblade into production.  Bousfield gives credit to his team of engineers and dedicated staff, who have “done what it takes to get the job done.”

“It is almost impossible for one person to change history”, said Bousfield, “but a coordinated team can.”

“When I look at the future, I see transportation shifting to the air.  This is, I believe, almost a universal concept: that sometime in the future, we will have flying cars.  Well, the future is now!”
