First Kitfox Fly-In Coming To Idaho

Event Kicks Off Labor Day Weekend

Aero-News has learned the first Kitfox Aircraft Fly-In will be held over Labor Day weekend, at the company's new facility in Homedale, ID.

The Fly-In will kick off Saturday, September 1, with a poker run... followed by lunch, most likely an afternoon flight ("after all, it is a FLY-IN and we like to fly!"), and then a barbecue dinner. Hangar flying will follow dinner Saturday.

Sunday morning, the company will send flyers off with a simple breakfast... after which there might be a second fly-out, or participants may opt to head home.

Kitfox Aircraft formed in 2006, to take over for the defunct SkyStar Aircraft... which filed Chapter 7 bankruptcy in October 2005. Former SkyStar employee John McBean teamed with four other highly motivated pilots, who decided not to let the design slip into aviation history. They put up their own finances to resurrect the design under the Kitfox banner.

The new company is truly a family affair -- John's wife, Debra, is the company CFO -- and remains committed to keeping the Kitfox design alive.
